A. How to use this site

  1. How can I find an accommodation?

  2. You can find an accommodation in several ways:
    • Indicate your criteria in the quick search and a list of homes will result.
    • Click on the world map, which is found in the advanced search area, click on the country you would like to go to, if necessary, and select a region, then one/more provinces. By clicking "find" a list with homes will result.
    • Go to our Smart Links section and select a category.
    • Search by typing a destination city or region name.
    • Check out our Last Minutes section.

  3. Can I send an email to Villapolis with my holiday accommodation requirements or do I need to search for an accommodation online?

  4. Our site works as a search engine. You enter your requirements and based on the information you have entered, you receive a list of homes, which match your criteria. Please do not send us an email asking us to find you a holiday home.

  5. How do I ask for more information, now that I have found an accommodation that fits my needs?

  6. You need to get in touch with the property manager either by using the "send request" button or by using the contact information shown beneath the home details of each ad.

  7. How do I make a reservation, now that I have found an accommodation that fits my needs?

  8. By using the "send request" button, you can specify that you want to make a reservation. The property manager will contact you to confirm the exact conditions. You can also use the contact information shown at the bottom of each ad (tel., fax, and postal address).

  9. I have chosen a destination, but I see / get too many home results, what do I do now?

  10. On top of the home result list are links to refine you selection. Click on a link next to "Your Destination" to refine the destination. Click on the link next to "Your Criteria" to add other criteria (like distance to sea, ski lift).

  11. Can I contact Villapolis to ask for information about an accommodation or for bookings?

  12. All the information we have is online. We are unable to provide you with any more information. If you require further details, you need to contact the property manager via the “send request” button or by using the contact information shown online.

  13. I have the reference of an accommodation (ex. 8080P2), how can I search for it?

  14. There are two ways to search with an accommodation reference:
    • Type in the reference in the Direct Search
    • Add the reference to the Villapolis address: www.villapolis.com/8080P2

  15. Can I receive a brochure of the rental homes?

  16. The Villapolis site is an electronic brochure that automatically provides you with the vacation home(s) corresponding to your criteria. If you wish to have a paper copy, please feel free to make a print screen, for your personal use only (see “copyright, trademarks and disclaimer”).

  17. How can I receive local information about my holiday destination?

  18. Villapolis does not directly provide local information. You can get information by:
    • Contacting the property manager
    • Contacting the tourist board in your country or in the place of destination
    • Contacting the Embassy

  19. What does high, low and mid season mean?

  20. High season is the property manager’s busiest season, and therefore more expensive. Depending on where the holiday accommodation is located, the high season can correspond to both summer and winter months. You should ask the property manager, as this is not a fixed variable. As a general rule, high season is during the school holidays.

  21. The prices marked on the site do not correspond with the prices indicated by the property manager.

  22. The prices shown on Villapolis are provided by the property managers as a general indication. The property managers can change these prices at their convenience. However, if the price differs too much, please let us know.

B. Contacting the property manager or owner

  1. What are my obligations when I send a request?

  2. You do not have any obligations.

  3. I only want some (additional) information about the accommodation (and do not want to make a reservation yet); can I send a request?

  4. Yes, you can (and this without any obligation). The purpose of Villapolis is to bring renters and property managers in contact with each other.

  5. I sent several requests via the form, but have not yet received answers from the property manager.

  6. The property managers are expected to reply within 48 hours. If you need to know the availability and/or exact conditions right away, please contact the property manager directly using the contact information, which appear below the home details.

  7. I am interested in several rental homes; do I need to send them each a separate request?

  8. Yes. Please note that each time you send out a request, you will receive a confirmation email.

  9. I would like to know immediately if the home is available. What do I need to do?

  10. First consult the availability calender if present). You can then contact the property manager with the contact information, which appears below the home details.

C. Tips for the perfect holiday experience

  1. How can I ensure a successful holiday?

  2. The objective of our site is to put you in contact with a property manager, or private owner. In order to avoid any miscommunication when making a reservation, we would like to provide you with a few useful tips:
    • Once you have chosen your holiday accommodation, reconfirm that amenities are in good working condition.
    • You should have the complete mailing address of the property manager, which does not limit itself to a Post Office Box.
    • Make sure that you have a valid telephone number and don’t hesitate to contact the property manager as many times as you need.
    • Don’t forget to ask for detailed information on how to get to your destination (many property managers offer a map) and sort out any issues, such as keys, arrival and departure times, etc. at least three weeks prior to your departure. Avoid paying the total amount due if these details have not been resolved. If you have any doubts, do not hesitate to ask for a reference or a testimonial of other guests, along with their names and addresses, and contact them yourself.

  3. How should I make payment?

  4. This is ultimately a decision that needs to be taken by you and the property manager. Most property manager’s will require an advance. The safest method of payment is via bank transfer. Certain countries, on the other hand, always use checks. If you have been asked to send a check, make sure that it is crossed and addressed to the property manager (agency name or physical name). If possible, please send your check via registered mail. Don’t forget to ask for a reservation confirmation. Avoid paying in cash.
